Oh Give Thanks, This ThanksGiving!

News
As we approach the ending of another year [2017], for Christians, nothing touches the heart of God more, than to see His children showing the God-centered gratitude, that our Lord demands and deserves; a sincere form of appreciation for who He is and for what He has done through us and for us. This [November] month, we know it best as Thanksgiving, a time of expressing profound gratefulness for His tender mercies, comfort, and spiritual guidance, as revealed in 2 Corinthians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Tender mercies and the God of all comfort." So, this Thanksgiving, in the midst of all the age-old traditions that we as Americans have grown accustom too, such as, the great food feast at…

EAGLE-EYED SAINTS!

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones Throughout history mankind has had fascination with Eagles, known as the king of the birds. Roman Legions (about 6,000) marched under the silver and gold emblem of Eagles. Egyptians used the Eagle as a symbol of victory! Here in America, our founding fathers put the Eagle on our national seal and on our money. Eagles can weigh as much as 14 pounds and have wing spans measuring seven to eight feet. Turbulent winds don't affect them. Eagles in the Bible represent qualities we admire: speed, strength, power, majesty, courage, faithfulness, pride, and tenacity ... they don't give up!!! Eagles have great courage. For their size, they are the most powerful of creatures and will attack animals larger than themselves. In Australia, they have been known to…

Pursue Humility: And Your Inheritance Will Over Take YOU!

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones The defining character trait that scripture implies that Jesus wants to see in all His disciples is Humility. Throughout sacred scripture, when you don’t see the actual word “Humility” in the text, it is implied: Turn to St. Luke 17:1-5; “Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times…

GOD WITH US: THE CHRISTMAS MESSAGE!

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones Many people see Christmas as a time to think of the baby Jesus in a manger. And in a humbling manner, there’s nothing wrong with that thought process: but the central truth of the Christmas story is this: God wrapped Himself in human flesh as an infant, in a manger. So, this Christmas, let’s think of the great truths of the Incarnation. It’s remembering the birth of Christ and the mystery of the Incarnation, that’s found in 1 Timothy 3:16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” Let’s be found giving Him reverent worship. Remember, the shepherds were…

SHEEP IN THE MIDST OF WOLVES!

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones A noted Bible scholar once said, "Many Christians suffer today from ecclesiastical schizophrenia. On the one hand they are urged by pastors to withdraw from worldly associations and activities; and on the other to proclaim the gospel to pershing people. It is impossible to do both." Our Lord made a statement that must have had the disciples scratching their heads. "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves." What a weird statement, because the shepherd tries to keep his sheep as far away from the wolves, as possible. Jesus, known as the good Shepherd, who deliberately sends his sheep out into the midst of wolves. He knows what he's doing; he wants us there! Knowing that there's danger, so, what's our protection:…

5 Common Excuses People Elect To Use When It Comes To Forgiving

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones The Word of God ‘COMMANDS’ us to forgive one another, as expressed in Matthews 6:14-15, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” And some attempt to forgive with a grudging heart, when Ephesians 4:32 says, “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.” Number One: The hurt is too big! The bigger the hurt the more you want to get rid of it, RIGHT??? Number Two: Time will heal it! Time heals nothing: all it does is to put a ‘scar over it – let someone bring it up, again, and watch…

THE ATTRIBUTES OF A STRONG CHRISTIAN

News
By: Dr. Mike Jones What comes to mind is how scripture talks about the stature King Saul, how he was the most handsome man in Israel - head and shoulders above everyone else (1 Samuel 9). And how the Prophet Samuel was sent to anoint David as the new King, and saw his brother Eliab, and thought, "Surely this must be the one!" He quickly learned that God's measure of a person was totally different than man's (1 Samuel 16). So as today, in many cases, the criteria we use to measure the attributes of a strong Christian is from an outward appearance: We often misjudge their measure of strength by, factors such as, their attendance and participation in our weekly services, yet, they could be starving on the inside…
